Delphi

For Computing A-level in the UK, everyone -- for some reason completely unknown to me -- uses either Pascal or Pascal/Delphi. At least, that's the way it seems.

So, I learnt Delphi. And, you know what -- I quite like it. Good for rapid development and not a bad language all round.

The big advantage for me was that it allowed me to move to a proper window-based GUI...

Delphi was also the language in which I coded my first ever 'real' project: Cerberus. Real in the sense that I gathered information on what the user base wanted, and when complete, there actually was in fact a user base.
